INDIBLU DESIGN GROUP UPDATES BRAND IDENTITY FOR N.C. ASSOCIATION OF INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS

Charlotte, NC -- The North Carolina Association of Independent Schools (NCAIS) needed a new look. They needed something that said "progressive," "outreach," "contemporary." They got it when they hired Indiblu Design Group to redesign their statewide organizational logo.

"We had a very traditional logo that was outdated," said NCAIS Executive Director Linda Nelson. "We wanted something that was open and inviting and portrayed the image that we were looking toward the future."

When Kimber Flynn, principal and design director of Indiblu Design Group, created the design, she knew that NCAIS required a logo that established it as a unique brand identity. Having partnered with the organization in April to sponsor two conferences for education professionals, she was already familiar with the market and knew how to position NCAIS' identity.

"Many state organizations feel that because the words "North Carolina" are in their name, they must use the state as their design icon," she said. "We wanted to portray the aspects of the NCAIS mission that they value most, which is to support and strengthen schools of North Carolina through communication and outreach."

The vibrant color scheme used in the logo will drive and support the new NCAIS identity in its upcoming marketing initiatives.

NCAIS was incorporated in 1970 as a voluntary nonprofit organization of independent elementary and secondary schools throughout North Carolina. The organization consists of 82 schools serving approximately 35,000 students. It serves to support and strengthen the independent schools of North Carolina through advocacy, and sponsorship of educational and professional development opportunities, among other programs.
