INDIBLU DESIGN GROUP RETAINED AS PARTNER BY ARC SERVICES TO CREATE NEW BRANDING AND AWARENESS PROGRAM

Charlotte, NC -- Work is underway to unveil an exciting new image designed to promote Arc Services in the communities they serve and to help foster awareness of the people they support.

Indiblu Design Group is developing a new branding and awareness program for the nonprofit organization that provides support and resources to more than 3,500 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness and substance abuse issues in 35 counties across North Carolina. Headquartered in Albemarle, N.C., Arc Services is a subsidiary of The Arc of Stanly County and a charter member of the national organization known as The Arc.

“It all started with one brochure,” said Kimber Flynn Evans, Indiblu Design Group principal and design director. Arc Services needed a marketing piece to solicit corporate partners for their work placement program, but it was soon apparent that one new piece wasn’t the right solution to a bigger awareness problem. “The best way to approach their situation was to start with research that would shed some light on the organization’s current identity, public perception and employee opinions.  They had changed so much over the years, and it was definitely time to reflect those changes,” she said.

Results of the market research proved invaluable to the future of the organization and the direction shifted. “The results were very enlightening,” said Peggy Terhune, executive director at Arc Services. “I was not sure about how a big change might impact our organization. But, their presentation was very revealing. Their ideas were inspiring. And, I knew that this was the perfect time for this effort. When Indiblu made the research and creative presentation and revealed our new identity to our statewide group of over 200 managers, they received a standing ovation. We are thrilled and can’t wait for the message to get out to the public.”

Indiblu Design Group brings its experience helping nonprofits build brand awareness to this important organization. “Very often, nonprofits do not focus their efforts on brand identity,” said Evans. “Many organizations feel that these tactics are for large corporations; yet, the best nonprofits are brands. Think in terms of breast cancer, United Way or the Humane Society. Your brand is your personality and can make people want to get to know you better or get involved. The nonprofits with strong brand identity programs are the successful ones, ultimately bringing in more money and support for their cause.”
